You’re a little short but you just NEED a great gift for him. What do you do?

So it’s one of those times. You’re a little short this month, maybe you just had a big payment to make or something like that. And you need a hot gift for your man, but don’t have much – or anything- to spend on it.

Give him a gift certificate or 3.

I think a gift certificate makes a good gift for a man. But before you rush off and start looking for gift certificates from the stores, I’m not thinking of those types of gift certificates. And of course those gift certificates aren’t free. I’m thinking of something entirely different.

Lets say your man loves it when you make chocolate mousse for desert, but you don’t get to do it very often.

Why not give him a gift certificate for a desert of chocolate mouse, from you, one evening?

Now I hope you’re starting to get the idea.

Perhaps he loves it when you give him a neck massage, or when you wash the dog so he doesn’t have to do it, or when ………….

I’m absolutely sure that you can come up with lots of great ideas for things he loves, that you can do for free, but that you don’t really get around to doing very often.

Feel free to think of anything at all that you know he’d love, and that you can do. Go on, start thinking now.

There, you’ve already come up with some haven’t you. Read more

Are flowers a good gift for him?

I’ve been thinking a bit about this. Is it a good idea to give flowers to men? Men give flowers to women all the time, and women like it. But what about a woman giving flowers to a man to tell him how she feels about him?
mens gift

Good question. I think it’s pretty fair to say that 10 or 20 years ago the answer would have to have been no. Men were men and there were no metrosexuals. The word didn’t even exist and men didn’t care so much about their appearance, or perhaps their decor or other things that are more traditionally the province of women.

However men are supposed to be more in touch with their feminine side, and it may well be that a gift of a rose to a man is now a fine gift for a sensitive man.

Make sure you know your man though. There are men who’d love a rose or 12 as a gift, and some who wouldn’t. And the best person to make that judgement is you. You know him better than anyone else probably.

Perhaps he’s the sort of man who loves a good spa, or manicure, or mudbath or facial. He’ll probably love a bunch of flowers. Some wouldn’t. But then there’s women who don’t like flowers too.

I have even read recently that there have been surveys done on this and that the result, surprisingly, is that around 70% of men would appreciate a gift of flowers. That figure surprised me, if I had to nominate a figure I’d have thought it would be a minority. There you are, the modern man has made great strides in the last 10 or 20 years.

I’ve been asked about personalized party favors for a man.

So you’re holding a party for him. Perhaps a graduation party, or a retirement party or a birthday party. And it’s a party where some party favors would be in order.

I’ve been asked about what I’d suggest for party favors for a mans party.

Now as you know if you’ve been reading for a while I love personalized gifts. I just think there’s something special about personalizing a gift. It makes for a gift that has some special meaning just for him.

So as I was looking at party favors I decided to see what I could find in the way of personalized party favors as well.

birthday party favor

I succeeded. You can find party favors of all kinds on the net, including fine personalized favors too. I found a site that is called Plum Drama with a range of personalized party favors that would suit a party for a guy.

Now of course not all parties for a man are the type of party where you need party favors on hand, but when you do then I’m all in favor of personalized ones myself. Read more

A sauna isn’t quite as expensive as you’d expect.

I love a good sauna. I do have to say that given a choice I’d go for an infrared sauna, the traditional ones are ok until the temperature is cranked up, then I find it a bit too hot for my liking.

Women love saunas, but so do men. And there’s so many good reasons to do so. A good session in the sauna can leave you feeling great. Refreshed, relaxed, de-stressed and just all round on top of the world.

And there seems to be quite some evidence that sauna use over the longer term is very good for you too.

So why not give your man a sauna for a gift? There’s lots of ways to do it.

Of course you could buy him a sauna. They can be used in the home or the garden, although if it’s in the home there are some issues with installation, so don’t just buy one to see if he can work out how to install it.

My preference is an infrared sauna. They work at lower temperatures than steam saunas, and don’t quite leave you gasping for air as a really hot steam sauna does. They are much more comfortable.

And you can get an infrared sauna much much cheaper than a steam sauna. You can buy portable infrared saunas that pack up and can be taken wherever he wants to go. They are made of lightweight material and are easily tranportable. Now you can’t do that with a steam sauna.

And it’s not that hard to build one, you can buy kits. So if your man is a handyman and would like his own sauna check out some of the infrared sauna kits around. A great way to get him a sauna at a much lower price. Read more
