I’ve said before that I don’t really think that the average Christmas cards that men receive are quite as interesting as they could be. In fact I think they are a little boring. (Shock horror)

One of my pet peeves is receiving the same old Christmas card each year with a few variations. Like colors, or a design change.So I like to suggest some Christmas cards with a difference, more “manish” Christmas cards that will appeal to him more than your average greeting card.

Sports Christmas cards are much more interesting to me. If he loves fishing why not send him a fishing Christmas greeting card, or a golf Christmas card, or a boating Christmas card, or any sports card that relates to what it is that he likes to do?

I’ve spent some time searching for sports Christmas cards and come up with some lovely greeting cards like basketball Christmas cards and boating Christmas cards and golf Christmas cards.

Tons of people spend lots of their time searching online for gifts for their man. It’s tough coming up with great gift ideas.

I look at the searches people do online for Christmas gifts. They search for hot Christmas gifts, or the best Christmas gifts, or the top Christmas gifts, Christmas gift previews and so on.

But you know I really don’t think you’re likely to find a great gift for your man like that. The hottest Christmas gift of 2007 may be a total flop as a Christmas gift for YOUR man.

Because a great gift isn’t about the hottest or the best or the latest or the greatest. That isn’t relevant to HIM. He is an individual, and may not be remotely interested in the best or the hottest.

The best or the hottest is advertising. It’s gifts companies trying to stir up sales by getting their products listed as the latest and greatest Christmas gift for the year. And if it’s listed as the latest and hottest then they’re hoping that lots of people are going to get out there and buy it.

Searching for the hottest Christmas gift ISN”T likely to find you a Christmas gift that your man will love.

Finding a great gift isn’t an exercise in fashion. It’s about knowing your man. Knowing what makes him tick. Knowing his likes and dislikes, his favorites, his loves.

It isn’t easy. Finding a great gift takes effort, and thought. Gift giving is something that you need to work at.
