I love Christmas trees. After all, I have kids and Christmas is a source of so much child delight. Although I feign disinterest in the tree and get them to decorate it with all the Christmas ornaments, I love it. It's a link back to my own childhood for me and I love seeing all the colored Christmas lights through our windows at night.
Often we have a real Christmas tree. However lately I've found myself feeling a little guilty about using real trees. With global warming and so on I wonder if it's more responsible to use an artificial Christmas tree that can be reused year after year. But unfortunately I just don't really get into artificial Christmas trees because they look so, well, artificial.
Mind you there is a downside to real trees. You should see the mess I end up with trying to get it into place, and for that matter removing it when it is done with.
One year we did have an artificial one and it was silver. It was disappointing because it just didn't look like a real Christmas tree. We had all the decorations and lights, everything that went on our regular real Christmas tree, but it just didn't work for me.
I'd rather buy my tree from a Christmas tree farm than a Christmas tree store. A real tree just does it better and looks right.
Until now. I have come across an artificial Christmas tree that looks like a real one. And that's my main problem with all the aluminum trees, the fiber optic trees and all those other trees that pass as Christmas trees. They don't look like a real tree.
