I’ve just got to have one. Shame I can’t afford it. This has to be the ultimate unique gift for a man to show off to his friends.

Gift for a man

It’s the Asahi Beerbot beer pouring robot. It pours his beer for him.
It’s commercially available.

At $799 I won’t be rushing to buy it, but I want it.

And apparently plenty of others do too, they’re currently out of stock. You need to go on their waiting list. But if they’re selling that well you can bet they’ll make more.

Now THAT’S a unique mens gift!

It’s from a Japanese company called C Scout.

I have said before that I am a big fan of engraved gifts for groomsmen. Engraved groomsmen gifts make wonderful gifts because it personalizes the gift.

Groomsmen giftsIt makes them special to that special man, or men. And if it’s a gift that he can use over and over again it’s a great gift.

So I wanted to tell you about a special company that I have been looking at who do engraved groomsmen gifts, and do them very well.

There are many many gifts companies on the internet. Many are very good, but very few who specialise in a small and unique segment of the gifts market. Most try to do everything. To sell gifts for every conceivable occasion.

Now that’s fine, if they can do it well then I have no problem with that. However I do like to see a company that takes a small segment of the market and concentrates on that segment alone. To me any company that does that has to sell great products, because if they don’t they’ll be out of business pretty soon.

One such company is Ashmont Engraving. They do groomsmen gifts. Specifically they do engraved groomsmen gifts. And only groomsmens gifts, so they have to do it well.

And they do. They are a standout in a small segment of the gifts market. If you’re a groom looking for grooms gift ideas for your groomsmen, you can’t do better than starting your search at Ashmont Engraving.

The first thing I like about them is that they are a one stop shop for gifts for groomsmen. They have a massive range of groomsmen gift ideas for you to peruse, and you could spend hours there looking through it all. You can shop by price, you can shop by interest, (his of course, not yours) or you can shop by department. For example mugs, glasses, flasks and so on.

There is a lot of speculation about the origins of Valentines day, and much disagreement, unfortunately. So for those looking to understand about where Valentines day comes from, here are a few of the many theories. What is Valentines Day

Many believe that Valentines day came from the time of St Valentine, or Valentinus, a Roman who was martyred in 269 AD, it is believed on February 14th, for refusing to give up Christianity. It is said that he had become enamored with his jailers daughter and left a love letter for her to find after his death, signed “from your Valentine”.

Unfortunately it is not entirely clear who St Valentine was. There are a number of martyrs who could have been St Valentine. The Catholic Encyclopedia says that St Valentine could have been one of at least 3 martyred men, all Romans, who carried the name Valentinus, a reasonably common name at the time. Some say there are many martyrs who could have been St Valentine.

Until 1969, the Catholic Church formally recognized eleven Valentine’s Days. These days recognised a range of martyrs, all named Valentine, or Valentinus. However in 1969 the church dropped St Valentines day from the Roman calender of worldwide Catholic feasts, presumeably because of the confusion and doubt surrounding the origins of the day and the exact identity of St Valentine.
