What about gifts for smokers, after all, they need a gift too.

smoking gift for men
Everyone seems to be down on smokers nowadays, and I should admit that I too am a non smoker. However that doesn’t mean that if your man is a smoker he doesn’t deserve a nice gift.

And why not a smoking related gift while you’re at it.

Perhaps a nice ashtray that might get some conversation going amongst his friends when they see it?

Here’s a lovely ashtray from India. I love arty gift ideas from Asian countries, and I’ve written about Chinese gifts too.

But I love Indian crafts. Especially after visiting India and seeing some of the wonderful crafts that come out of that country.

So why not a beautiful Indian ashtray. Read more

Here’s a great idea if he loves art, as long as you ignore the terrible website.

I’ve been perusing some art gifts and in particular one website which first took my attention. The artist contacted me about the artwork, warned me the website was terrible, and asked me to look at the artwork.

art gift for men

I agree, the website is terrible. But once I got over that I started to look at her artwork and decided I quite liked it.

The artist is Angela Kellett and her website is Man Cave Art.

She produces cut out wall hangings from Luan Wood. I’ve asked her a bit more about it as it interests me and so I’d like to know how she does it. Read more

Tennis gifts for 60 year old tennis players, not 21 year olds.

I’ve come across a tennis gift idea that I thought I’d pass along. It’s not a tennis gift that you’d buy for a 21 year old guy who loves his tennis, but it is a tennis gift for perhaps a 60 year old man who loves his tennis.
Mans Tennis Gift

Why a 60 year old tennis player and not a 21 year old tennis player? Because the 60 year old guy isn’t as spritely as he used to be and, although he loves his tennis, may not be quite as agile on the tennis court as he’d like. Maybe he’s got back problems, amongst other things.

Well at 60 you’d expect that wouldn’t you. And not just for a 60 year old guy who plays tennis but for a 60 year old guy who plays just about anything, he’ll be slowing up a bit.

So any gift idea that makes his day on the tennis court a little easier has to be welcome. And it will allow him to focus more on the tennis than, say, collecting tennis balls.

So here’s a gift idea for an older man who plays tennis and has a little more trouble bending down picking up tennis balls all the time.

It’s called the “Grip and Lift“. It attaches to the end of his tennis racket and becomes, in effect, his own personal ball boy. Just pick up the ball with the end of the tennis racket and he doesn’t even need to bend over any more. Read more

Unique mens gift ideas. His own personalized dogtags.

I’m asked a lot for unusual ideas for mens gifts. Something that he wouldn’t think of in a million years if you asked him what he wants for his birthday this year.

So here’s one I’ve come across lately that I think fits the bill as pretty unique. Not something that would appeal to all men, certainly, but it will appeal to many I think. And you should know if your man is the type who’d love to have his own personalized dogtags.

Just like the army, except that you can choose the text for the dogtags. It will be imprinted for you, and you’ll be able to select one of 4 different styles, choose your own  silencer color, choose the chain that it hangs on and hey presto, you’ve got him his own dogtags that you’ve designed for him, and which say what you want them to say. I was looking for an unusual gift idea, here’s a good one.

I’ve written a bit lately about golf gift ideas. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, there’s so many golfers and so there’s got to be a heap of people out there looking for ideas for a gift for a golfer.
Mouse Drum

But I thought I’d look for something not related to golf this time. And something that’s, well, different.

This is what I found. A mousepad that doubles as a finger drum as well.

Now that’s different. If he spends a lot of time on the computer as I do, and needs a break from time to time he just takes his mouse off the pad and starts drumming.

It’s an electronic drumpad that allows him to play 8 different percussion sounds, including bass, snare, two rack toms, a floor tom, hi-hat, crash, and ride cymbals.

And all he needs to do to start drumming if to use his fingers.

He can adjust the volume, and he can even record his own drumming. Read more

So your man loves art. Can I suggest something different that might get his attention?

Great artwork is wonderful. By artwork I mean paintings and drawings, I know there’s lots of other things that are artwork as well, but I just love paintings and drawings. And I’ve written about elephant paintings before.

Australian Aboriginal Art

I just figure that if you’re going to get him something arty then why not go for something completely different?

How about Australian aboriginal artwork? Very different indeed, in fact quite unique.

The Australian aboriginal culture goes back tens of thousands of years, and they have produced an extremely unique and distinctive style of artwork that I love.

You can see quite a few examples that I’ve put up here. Very different from what you’re used to seeing I bet. And Australian aboriginal artwork is getting hot on the international art market, with some pieces going for huge prices, so it may be a good investment as well, although if you’re buying for that reason you need to do some more homework.

From quite cheap to very expensive.

But I just love the look and the style. So if your man is into art why not something to take his breath away that’s totally different. Here’s somewhere you can find Australian aboriginal art, though a google search will find lots more. Aboriginal Art Shop This site is where I found the images displayed.
