Every now and then I come across a gifts website that I haven’t seen before. It’s not common, I’ve seen a lot of them, however every now and then there’s one that’s slipped past my radar.

Such was the case with Spencers Online, so I thought I’d review the website. It is always fun to look through a website that you haven’t visited before.

Spencers Online is a general gifts website meaning that it’s not specifically dedicated to gifts for men, but has fun and interesting gift ideas for just about anybody.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that. It’s not just men who like a good gift idea.

And it’s not a niche gifts side, meaning that it doesn’t just concentrate on any particular gift type, it covers just about everything, and covers it well.

In fact it has a massive range of ideas. When you first visit you don’t quite realize how many ideas until you mouse over the links at the top and see the enormous range of ideas in the drop-down menus. Only then do you realise how big the site is.

For instance under “Fun and Games” there’s a wide range of selections to choose from including adult fun, drinking games, funny gifts and party ideas for all of the major age milestones, and more.

Or you can go mainstream and pick up one of the major brands, or perhaps look for some accessories for him.

Sometimes I’m particularly taken with clothes and accessories to wear. I particularly loved the Corona bottle men’s flip flops, though there’s a wide range of interesting ideas for flip-flops. I just like Corona.

And I was also taken by some of the fun T-shirts. A novel T-shirt is always a fun gift idea for your man, provided it something a little unusual, and not all that expensive. One that particularly appealed to me was a hilarious T-shirt with “I have an App for that” on it. For some reason that took my fancy, I suppose Apps are pretty trendy right now.

And the “Boobies make me smile” T-shirt took my fancy as well. And you can find more risque than that if you wish, of course depending on your tastes, and his.

If you’d prefer to give him a T-shirt that is totally unique you can even design your own, including the type of garment you would like to give him.

But there’s lots more than fun T-shirts at Spencers Online.

Spencers Online isn’t the sort of website to visit if you’re just about to head out the door and have 2 minutes spare. Set aside a good half-hour if you’re visiting. You can’t possibly do it justice in a few minutes.

Spencers Online is well worth visiting if you’re looking for some new ideas for a gift for your man. There’s plenty of  top gift ideas for every occasion to browse.

(Oh, and I forgot to mention, they have a sale on funny hats at the moment. Like everything though, get in fast, when it’s over it’s over)

I think one of the finest men’s gifts is a watch. There are some wonderful watches available now, both functional and good-looking, and most of them look great on a man’s wrist.

More and more these days men want to look good, and it’s not always just about clothes. A fine fashionable good-looking watch can top off the look for a man, and make him feel good as well.

I’ve featured watches here before, however I’m always happy to look at watches again, just to drool over some of those available.

Today I’ve been looking at some of the watches at ShopNBC.com and I like what I see. In fact I put some images here of those that appealed to me.

My taste in watches runs to color as much as style. I love a good watch that stands out from the crowd, that gets noticed on his wrist and which draws attention. I’m also more an analog man than a digital man.

Not only that I’m also lazy, and so for me a watch that I can wear in the shower is essential, because I’m too lazy to take it off and put it back on every time I take a shower. Luckily nowadays there’s so many fully waterproof watches available.

Now of course your man might be a digital man, or he might love gold, or muted colors, or a different watch band to the one that appeals to me. But either way I can just about guarantee he will love a new watch as a gift for his birthday or Christmas or any other special occasion.

Nowadays the range of watches that you can buy for your man is enormous, and there is something there to suit just about any taste in watches either digital or analogue, colorful or muted, flashy or just plain stylish.

ShopNBC.com is a good place to start looking for a great watch for a gift for your man. And there’s some stunning watches right there in that catalogue. I was drooling, again.

Even if your man has a watch already, or even a couple of watches, he can always do with another one as long as it’s different to what he has already and looks great.

Oh, one other thing. To me one of the best things about any gift is that it be personalised. A watch that looks hot is a fine gift, but one that looks hot with a personalised engraved message on the back from you to him is a far better gift than just the watch alone.

The message that you engrave on the back is as important as the watch. The message is a huge part of the gift so you need to think about it carefully and work out what to say in a way that will fit on the back.

So if you’re a little stuck for a great gift idea consider a beautiful stylish watch for your man, think a little bit about what you want to say to him with your gift, get it engraved with your message and you’ve got a fine gift for your man.

I’ve written about cigar gifts before. Whilst not being a cigar smoker myself I can quite understand the attraction. The aroma of a good cigar is wonderful, and I love it.

However not so many girls are cigar smokers, so you might be a little like me. You’d like to buy him some cigars as a gift however you really know very little about them.

If that’s the case then you may find it interesting to learn a little more about cigars, and you may appreciate a little more exactly why he loves them.

When I first started considering cigars as a men’s gift idea I spent some time looking at various cigar websites. I was stunned to find how many different types of cigars there were. I was also amazed to find out more about the history of cigars, how they are made and where they come from.

I had no idea that cigars have been around for centuries. The American Indians were even smoking tobacco leaves rolled up before Christopher Columbus came to America. In fact it was Columbus who brought the tobacco to Europe.

Often, if you’re buying him a gift of cigars you can include various accessories with the cigars if he doesn’t have them already. Of course if you know exactly which cigars he likes you could just buy those for him for his gift. However why not be more adventurous. But there’s stacks of men, I know, who love a good cigar or 3. And who can blame them if that’s their thing. And girls, if your man loves a good cigar then there’s your gift ideas for him right there. Cigars and everything that goes with them.

Cigars aren’t cheap of course, and there’s plenty of men who can’t afford all that many. But if you’re looking for a great gift idea then a box of cigars, or perhaps a humidor, or another cigar accessory, would, I’m sure, go down a treat. It’s always nice to buy him something that he can’t afford to buy a lot of himself.

And like just about everything it’s always cheaper to buy online. So today I’ve been looking at cigar stores online.

The one that caught my eye was famous-smoke.com. They have a list of cigar brands on sale that beggars belief. I knew that you got good cigars from Cuba, but Honduras and Nicaragua? And did you know that the Dominican Republic is actually the worlds largest exporter of cigars?

So if your man is a cigar aficionado and smokes Cuban cigars then why not get him some Honduran cigars to try, or Nicaraguan cigars?

If you’re interested in any particular brand of cigars then you can read customer reviews of literally hundreds of different brands. You’re spoiled for choice, so if you know he loves a particular brand you can go straight to it. Otherwise you may spend some time browsing the huge range of different cigars available, and all the options for the different brands.

But if choosing a brand of cigars gets a little confusing why not find him a great cigar gift by buying him a cigar accessory? Like the cigars themselves I had no idea that there were so many different accessories to buy for the cigar smoker. Again there’s hundreds. There’s 107 different cigar cutters alone, for example. And humidification devices to make sure his cigars are as fresh as the day you gave them to him.

And did you even know that cigar lovers need to ensure the exact right level of humidity to make sure those cigars stay at their best, and that he can do that with a hygrometer?

There’s literally hundreds of gift ideas for the cigar smoker, many of which I didn’t even know existed. Right from different brands of cigars to a whole range of cigar accessories.

So if your man is a cigar smoker then there’s your gift ideas right there. Why not treat him to a box of cigars from a country that he didn’t even know made them, or grab him some good cigar accessories?

Oh, and don’t forget to run a few of his cigars under your nose if you haven’t done it before. You’ll love the aroma.

There seems to be this impression that it is only women who should be given chocolates. That chocolates make a fine valentines day gift for a woman for example. But not for a man. It’s a strange notion, given that just about all men I know love chocolate.

And it’s wonderful news to find out that the health researchers are now telling us that eating chocolate is good for you!

Give him chocolates, it’s good for him!

Unfortunately it’s restricted a little, he has to eat them in moderation, and preferably dark chocolate. The last one suits me, but not the first.

So forget the stereotype that chocolates only make a nice gift for a woman. Give him some chocolates if he’s a chocolate lover, and he’ll love it!>

Which chocolates to give him? Well of course you could just head on over to your local store and buy some, but you can do better than that.

One of the best ways to organise a mans chocolate gift is by a “gift of the month“. You’ll know if you’re a regular reader here that I’m a big fan of gift of the month clubs. I’ve talked about coffee, wine and more. I think it’s a wonderful way to give a gift that goes on and on.

And that’s how it should be with chocolates. It’s not hard to see off chocolates in a single day, so chocolates which keep coming every month will be a great gift for a man who can’t get enough chocolate.

The chocolate of the month club isn’t a 12 month deal, and if you think about it you can see why. The chocolates have to be shipped, and in summer ……………

So you can choose 3, 6 or 9 months for his chocolate gift that goes on and on.

It’s a wonderful birthday chocolate gift idea, or a Christmas chocolate gift. In fact for any occasion. A chocolate gift box that keeps on giving for the chocolate gourmet.
