I love chocolates, especially dark chocolates, and especially with soft centers. I'm hungry thinking about it right now, and I've just had breakfast! So I think a gift of chocolate for a man is a wonderful gift.

There seems to be this impression that it is only women who should be given chocolates. That chocolates make a fine valentines day gift for a woman for example. But not for a man. It's a strange notion, given that just about all men I know love chocolate.

And it's wonderful news to find out that the health researchers are now telling us that eating chocolate is good for you!

Give him chocolates, it's good for him!

Unfortunately it's restricted a little, he has to eat them in moderation, and preferably dark chocolate. The last one suits me, but not the first.

So forget the stereotype that chocolates only make a nice gift for a woman. Give him some chocolates if he's a chocolate lover, and he'll love it!>

Which chocolates to give him? Well of course you could just head on over to your local store and buy some, but you can do better than that.

chocolate gift for a manOne of the best ways to organise a mans chocolate gift is by a "gift of the month". You'll know if you're a regular reader here that I'm a big fan of gift of the month clubs. I've talked about coffee, wine and more. I think it's a wonderful way to give a gift that goes on and on.

And that's how it should be with chocolates. It's not hard to see off chocolates in a single day, so chocolates which keep coming every month will be a great gift for a man who can't get enough chocolate.

The chocolate of the month club isn't a 12 month deal, and if you think about it you can see why. The chocolates have to be shipped, and in summer ……………

So you can choose 3, 6 or 9 months for his chocolate gift that goes on and on.

There are often opportunities for gifts that are quality luxury gifts but at a price that doesn't reflect the extraordinary value you get. Often it's a case of being in the know. These things go on all the time, but only the people who know about them usually get to buy at the usually very discounted price.

This is especially true in the travel industry. There are all sorts of last minute deals where airlines and cruise ships try to fill every last vacancy they have, at any price. Because it's better to carry some extra people at a hugely discounted price rather than have empty seats, or cabins.

But of course it's always a problem with the terms and conditions. You get very little choice, very little time, and often the worst seats. But if the terms and conditions suit you then it works out fine.

One of the best luxury gifts you can buy for a man who loves the sea is a cruise. But isn't a cruise expensive? Not if you know how to buy the special deals.

This is where I make a confession. I'm a bit of a computer freak. Not a geek, I think that implies a lot more technical know how than I have, but I love computers.

Luxury gift for your manThat includes computer games. I love computer games and I am constantly keeping myself on the straight and narrow. In other words stopping myself from playing games and getting on with the productive stuff.

I would just love this [tag-tec]gift for a man[/tag-tec] who loves luxury, and computer games. As a [tag-ice]mens gift[/tag-ice] this is the ultimate computer game gift - other than the games themselves.

It's the Sound Rocker. Compatible with all computer game consoles. And it isn't just for enhancing the sound experience of computer games, it will do the same for DVDs, MP3s, iPods, music and TV as well. But it's the application to computer games that turns me on. And to most other forms of music and sound experience.
