So your man loves cigars, and loves golf

I love the aroma of a good cigar. Whilst it might not be politically correct to be a cigar smoker, or a smoker generally, I can quite understand the attraction. After all, not all of us are entirely politically correct.
Cigar Gard
There’s been some famous figures in history who have loved a good cigar. Winston Churchill comes to mind immediately. And I’ve written on this website about cigars and cigar accessories as gifts for your man before.

Equally I love golf, as do a substantial percentage of men, and for that reason I have also written extensively about golf gifts for your man if he is the golfing type.

I’ve recently come across another cigar accessory. It’s something that I would never have thought of myself however when I start to think about it it seems to me that it’s a great gift for a cigar smoking man who plays golf as well.

Think about it. He’s enjoying a good cigar on the 5th hole. He stops to take a shot. What is he going to do with that cigar? Well of course he’ll do what almost all men do on the course in that situation, he’ll put it on the grass while he takes his shot, then pick it up afterwards to keep smoking.

No problem there. Or is there? What about all those pesticides they spray on the grass to keep all the bugs away and to keep the grass looking good? When he puts his cigar on the grass isn’t it picking up pesticides to put in his mouth?Cigar Gard

What about if the grass is wet? He ends up with a soggy cigar, or else, as I have observed myself, tries to balance it on the cover of his driver until a gust of wind blows it off to end back on the wet grass.

How about a great gift idea for him to overcome this problem? Well I found one. It’s called The Cigar Gard and it’s specifically designed to overcome all these problems. And it works for cigarettes as well as cigars.

It’s a simple piece of equipment that attaches to his golf cart magnetically. He puts his cigar in the clamp, which has a range of sizes for different cigars or cigarettes, leaves it there while he takes his shot and it stays there till he comes back. Dry and pesticide free.

What about when he’s putting? He may spend 10 minutes on the green taking his shots and waiting for his friends. Half his cigar may be gone.Cigar Gard

No problem there, The Cigar Gard can be detached easily from the cart and taken with him, and put down whilst the cigar is still carefully taken care of.

There’s some very clever people out there thinking of simple but effective ideas to overcome simple problems like this. This is a great idea for a gift for a man who loves his cigars and who loves his golf, both at the same time.

There is an entire website just devoted to The Cigar Gard, and you have the option of buying theĀ Gard on its own or in a dedicated Humidor.

At $39.95 it’s a simple, cheap but very unusual idea for a gift for a cigar smoking golfing man. Read more

After all, if he loves golf you can’t go past a golf gift.

Golf just has to be one of the most popular sports on the planet. Maybe the most popular, although I believe fishing is about the most popular.
Golfing Gift

So if your man loves fishing then find him a hot fishing related gift. I explained how in my last post. But if he loves golf here’s a great idea for a golfing gift.

It’s a great looking golfing themed belt buckle that doubles to do some other golfing related tasks at the same time.

In particular it works as both a divot tool and as a ball marker for those times on the green when he needs a market for his golf ball.
Golf Gift
Now is that a cool gift or not? I love them, they look stylish and they’re functional. They’re useful.

All goodcharacteristics of a good mens gift idea.

Now of course there’s lots of great golfing gift ideas around, but this one just caught my eye. But if it’s not for him then you’ll still find some hot new golfing gift ideas for men. Maybe he wears pants that don’t need a belt.

But if he does wear a belt it’s hard to go past this as a good mens gift. Get them at The Golfers Belt. (Update – sorry but it seems that their site has been taken down, I have no idea why, so now I don’t know where you can get the golfers belt. Thanks to one of my readers for letting me know).

Maybe girls, combine it with a kiss, a cuddle and a meal out just for the two of you. Read more

Cigar smoking golfers are often stuck with what to do with the cigar during that crucial putt.

Picture him. He’s lit up his favorite cigar because it’s his day off and he’s on the golf course. It’s a beautiful day, so why not a cigar while he’s playing golf?
cigar holder

He gets to the green and it’s a long, important putt. But there he is trying to work out what to do with that cigar while he putts.

Of course he could put it down on the grass, or balance it on top of his golf bag. Fine until someone stands on it or it falls into his golf bag and his clubs start to smoulder.

Or he could try and putt with the cigar in his teeth, not the ideal way to concentrate on that putt, especially if the smoke gets in his eyes at the crucial moment.

How about a special cigar holder that snaps onto one of the straps of his golf bag so he can leave his cigar in it’s holder. Nothing to catch fire, nothing to burn. Read more

More great golf gift ideas for a golf fanatic.

I seem to be on a bit of a golf gift theme at the moment. No idea why, although I know golf gifts are huge, there’s so many people out there who give and receive golf gifts.

So recently I’ve written about golf travel cases and sports logo golf balls. When I look for a good golf gift I like to suggest something out of the ordinary.

Hopefully this golf gift suggestion fits the bill there too.

It’s a golf destination book. I have to say I was taken in by the title, Fifty Places to Play Golf Before You Die.

It’s all about the worlds greatest golf courses, the sort of golf course that he (or you) would just die to play, no pun intended. The favorite courses of world famous players, course designers and other golf experts.

Stunning photos, full color, course descriptions and even descriptions of THOSE holes.

It’s a beautiful coffee table book, and if he’s a golf fanatic he’ll love it, but you might find that you lose him from time to time when he decides that he IS going to play one or more of those golf courses and disappears to do so. Read more

Does your man love golf and travelling?

It’s not easy travelling with golf clubs. They are a big and heavy item, and bulky, and expensive, and not the sort of thing you want broken often.

It’s not enought to just zip up the golf bag and put it on a plane, there’s been so many stories of golf clubs lost, broken, stole, or something else happening, like all the balls going missing.

No problem, because I think that a good golf travel case is a fine gift for a man who love to golf and travel. A golf travel case is a case into which he puts his golf clubs, and usually his golf bag as well. It is closed up, or better still completely locked, and is perfect to put on the plane.

There’s 2 types of golfers travel case. There’s the soft travel case which, as the name suggests, is made of soft material. It should be padded inside though, and ideally should come with small wheels so that he can pull it through airports and hotel lobbies, though often they can be a little difficult to pull.

Then there’s the hard golf travel case. Again as the name suggests, it’s made of hard material like molded polyethylene plastic, and offers total protection to his clubs. Usually, though not always he puts his entire golf bag into the hard case.

They are usually almost indestructible, and it is sometimes claimed that they can be dropped from the plane and the clubs will still survive. The best ones even offer free golf club insurance in the event that the golf clubs are damaged on the flight. Read more

Yesterday I wrote about custom logo golf balls.

They’re a fine gift idea. Just work out your logo or slogan, order a dozen and you’ve got a good gift for a golfer.

But today I was looking for something for a sports fan and was looking at logo golf balls again. Not custom logo golf balls, just preprinted golf balls with the logos of favorite teams.

Lets say he’s a Boston Red Sox fan, and he loves golf. How about giving him a 3 pack of logo golf balls with the Red Sox logo on them? Not expensive, just $10 and it’s a great idea.

How about gift idea for a Yankees fan. A complete golf gift box with logo golf balls, and logo towel. Again a fine golf gift idea. Of course there’s lots more than just these 2, click on the images to browse around the merchants site, and pick what you want. Read more
