Does he like to express his emotions when he's driving?

Last night I was stuck behind a big truck at night, going very slowly up a hill, nowhere to pass him. And to my surprise he pulled over to let me pass up the hill. A nice gesture and one which I rewarded with a couple of flashes of my hazard lights to say thanks.

That's about the best you can do to say thanks to someone else in another vehicle, or at least so I thought until today when a reader alerted me to a new device that would have been perfect in the circumstances.

It's called the car message sign and it's a small remote controlled receiver that sticks to the back window of his car and allows him to tell the driver behind that he's been nice to you, and thanks.

There's 4 different emotions to express by different smiley faces, or not so smiley faces, and you can of course choose which you want to use in which circumstances. Including one telling the driver behind that you think he's an idiot.

So why is it that guys love gadgets? I have no idea really, but it really is a guy thing. Girls just don't seem to get into gadgets at all.

Girls, there's your que, remember that guys love gadgets. If you're stuck for great gift ideas remember that. I'll say it again. Guys love gadgets.

So if you can find a great gadget or gizmo then it can be a great gift idea for a guy.

I don't know what it is with guys and gadgets. Guys just seem to love gadgets for no apparent reason. Or at least no reason I can discern.

New gadgets are everywhere, there seems to be an insatiable demand for them, and an enormous supply of new gadgets for a hungry market.

"Gadget' can of course mean many things. Probably the best definition of what a gadget is is the definition of gadget from Wikipedia.

"A gadget is a device or an appliance that has a useful specific practical purpose and function but is often thought of as a novelty. Gadgets are invariably considered to be unusually or cleverly designed than normal technology at the time of their invention. Gadgets are sometimes also referred to as gizmos."

It's a pretty good definition, but it doesn't explain why guys love gadgets! I suspect it's something to do with the "novelty" aspect. Gadgets are fun, novel, different. There is something "cutting edge" about gadgets, something new and exciting.

However it doesn't really matter why men love high tech gadgets, just that they do. And if men love gadgets then a great gadget makes a great Christmas gift, or birthday gift or any other gift for a man.
