So it’s one of those times. You’re a little short this month, maybe you just had a big payment to make or something like that. And you need a hot gift for your man, but don’t have much – or anything- to spend on it.

Give him a gift certificate or 3.

I think a gift certificate makes a good gift for a man. But before you rush off and start looking for gift certificates from the stores, I’m not thinking of those types of gift certificates. And of course those gift certificates aren’t free. I’m thinking of something entirely different.

Lets say your man loves it when you make chocolate mousse for desert, but you don’t get to do it very often.

Why not give him a gift certificate for a desert of chocolate mouse, from you, one evening?

Now I hope you’re starting to get the idea.

Perhaps he loves it when you give him a neck massage, or when you wash the dog so he doesn’t have to do it, or when ………….

I’m absolutely sure that you can come up with lots of great ideas for things he loves, that you can do for free, but that you don’t really get around to doing very often.

Feel free to think of anything at all that you know he’d love, and that you can do. Go on, start thinking now.

There, you’ve already come up with some haven’t you.

Then head over to Gift Tango and make yourself a gift certificate, or perhaps 2, or perhaps 10. Print them, if you’ve made 10 perhaps staple them up into a book of gift certificates, and there you’ve got a hot, and totally free gift for him.

Make sure you tell him when you give it to him though that he’s got to exercise some constraint when he redeems his certificates, perhaps one a fortnight, or a month, or you could find yourself pretty tired!

Here’s some suggestions for a free gift for your man. Each is a lovely suggestion on it’s own, all of them combined tell him you love him with maximum effect. And free.

1. Give him a poem.

There’s lots of ways to express how you feel about your man, and a poem is one of them. Of course not all men would be receptive to a beautiful poem, but then not all men would be receptive to a brilliant NFL gift either.

A poem can really say something worthwhile. It can often express emotions in a way that is difficult to do in other ways. It is a romantic and beautiful way to say something to your man, so say I love you.

Now of course you could write him a poem yourself. That’s ideal, however not all of us are accomplished poets.

If you’re not, then there are places to go to get beautiful and romantic poems which you can use for free, and quite legally.

Maybe you could write your poem out by hand and send it to him by mail, the old fashioned way. Or maybe just email it to him at work when he’s least expecting it. Or why not make him a romantic dinner at home and have your poem to him in an easy to find place on the table, say under his wine glass?

Either way, particularly if it’s completely unexpected, a poem expressing to him how you feel about him is a wonderful way to give him a gift that is totally free, and very successful.

2. Make him something wonderful to eat.

Men are like women. They love eating. And you don’t need to head down to the local store to buy him something special to eat.

There is absolutely no reason why you can’t make him something wonderful to eat yourself.

If you don’t have any ideas then the internet is the place to learn. Anyone can learn to cook wonderful fudge, cookies or any other of thousands of wonderful gourmet treats.

Or perhaps a wonderful new main course, why not a duck meal?

Just take your time, research it on the net and practice. Find a good recipe and try it out on yourself first. It’s not hard to do.

3. Give him a hug.

One gift that’s so often overlooked, and is also often very successful, is a hug.

It’s completely free, no matter how often you do it, and it works a treat. It says I love you as well if not better than most other gifts, and is totally free, no matter how often you give one.

Combine a hug with other gifts. For example you can give him his romantic poem and combine it with a hug at the same time, and why not a kiss for good measure?

4. Do them all.

Give him a huge hug when he comes home and tell him you love him.

Have the table set for a romantic dinner you’ve made yourself. Candles and low lighting, perhaps some flowers or something aromatic, like incense. Music.

Produce a wonderful meal that you’ve made yourself. Maybe a special desert, finish with something like home made fudge.

Make sure you have his special poem on hand. Perhaps hand written by you, how about under his wine glass? Or maybe you could read it to him?

This is a beautiful and completely free gift, and men will love it. It costs nothing except for the ingredients for the meal, and you’re going to eat anyway aren’t you?

All it takes is time and effort on your part. Commitment to ensure that even if you’re not flushed with funds at the moment to buy him an expensive gift, you can still find a wonderful way to tell him you love him.

He’ll know you can’t afford too much, and appreciate the fact that you’ve still taken the time and effort for him anyway.

I can almost feel you thinking. Romantic meal? There’s nothing new in that.

If so you’re forgetting what gifts are about. It’s not about finding the latest and greatest. The newest or coolest or the most expensive. Gifts aren’t a competition to produce the coolest or best gadget.

Giving gifts is about an exchange of love. About making him feel good about himself and feel good about the fact that it’s you that loves him.

Then put it on a wall and it makes a wonderful and arty wall hanging, or painting, or ??? I don’t quite know what you’d call it. But it looks great.

You can use any image you like. Why not a photo of you so he can have a stylised picture of you on his wall? Or even a photo of him?

Or perhaps his dog? Any photo of something that is important to him really.
It’s completely free to use and it’s pretty self explanatory, I worked out how to use it in a few minutes, just follow the prompts. It takes a while to “rasterbate” the image, so maybe you need to make a cup of coffee while you’re waiting, otherwise it’s pretty simple.

You can also select the size of the resulting image. How big or small do you want it in pages. So if you’ve got a small space to put it then do a 4 A4 page size, if you’ve got a huge space to put it then pick a huge one, why not

There’s a few things you need, but if you’re on the net now, and obviously you are, then you’ve probably got it all. You need a computer obviously, a printer, a good photo and a pdf reader. You print from the pdf.

Just about every computer has a pdf reader now, if not then they are free, just search google for a free pdf reader.

It’s an unusual gift with a difference. A personal gift, a picture of you is a pretty personal gift, and a unique and funny gift. I’m sure it will be responsible for lots of conversation amongst him and his friends when they see it on his wall.

It’s not the cost of the gift for a man that determines the value.

This is a gift that falls into that category. A thoroughly worthwhile gift of love – and health – that costs nothing. And which for some men be the best gift they ever receive.

It’s a gift of a visit to the doctor for an overall health check, incuding a prostate cancer check. Not an easy gift to give, but one you may be thankful for for the rest of your – and his – life.

I’m no doctor, and don’t take this as medical advice, but as I understand it prostate cancer is one of the major killers of men in our society. Just like breast cancer is of women.

And also as I understand it, men are extremely reluctant to go for a general medical checkup, including a prostate check.

So if he’s really special it might be up you to make sure he does. And make it for a general check up as well, not just prostate. There’s lots of other things worth checking. Do it annually.

This is a particularly personal issue for me. My father had prostate cancer. He died some 12 months ago, from cancer. They don’t know exactly which, he ended up with a few types of cancer, the prostate cancer may or may not have caused them.

That makes me an ideal candidate for prostate cancer. I have the gene. So I have been for regular prostate checks for many years. And general checks too.

And of course a checkup doesn’t mean that he has no more prostate cancer risk. However it seems that the earlier you detect it the better chance you have. And that applies to other things as well.

And if you find something you don’t want to then there’s a whole can of worms that opens up. That’s another issue.

But I think it’s still true that all of this is better than just ignoring it and hoping it won’t happen to him.

So for the caring woman, or man, looking for a special gift for a man, think a little laterally and take him for a checkup if he’s a little reluctant. One of the best [tag-tec]free gifts for a man[/tag-tec] you could ever give him.
