Fine Wine Gifts For The Wine Loving Man
One of the best bits of news that I have heard recently is that the experts have decided that there are anti oxidants in wine, particularly red wine, and that a glass or 2 of wine in the evening is good for you.
Finally no more guilt at having that odd glass. I can go ahead and make myself healthier, and feel good about giving fine wine gifts to people who appreciate their wine.
It needs to be drunk in moderation of course! But I like my wine, and I’m happy to have a glass or 2 of red in the evenings and feel virtuous for doing it.
And to me, a bottle or 3 of wine as a gift for a wine loving man is a superb gift. If you pick good wines.
Now although I like the odd glass or 2 of red I can’t confess to being an expert on wines. Often it’s luck when I pick a good one, and then I keep getting the same one. But of course the best way to buy wine, including wine gifts, is to buy from someone who stocks the best.
As long as it’s good wine a wine bottle gift box is a superb gift.
So if you’re intending to give wine to a man as a gift what are your options? Well of course there are wine gift baskets and wine gift boxes, both make great gifts. Or you could consider a wine of the month club gift.
If you have been reading here you’ll know that I think a gift of a subscription to one of the monthly clubs makes a good gift for a man. I have looked at cigars and coffee, but there are also wine of the month clubs. They use experts to choose the wines which are sent to you, or him, to taste every month. As experts choose the wines you know you are getting great wines.
You get different ones every month, from all over the world, and you will get wines you would never have ever thought of buying yourself.
This would probably be my first recommendation for someone looking to buy a gift of fine winefor a man. It’s not cheap, a monthly subscription adds up, so for some will be too expensive.
There are of course all sorts of other options. A lovely gift of wine is a gift basket or box. A basket of fine food and gourmet wine is a fine gift. My preference is a box. I have no idea why really, I just see a wine gift as a gift that comes in a box. Completely irrational really, a basket is lovely.
There are very good online companies specialising in fine wine wooden gift boxes of 2 or 3 bottles. If I was looking for a wine gift box I’d start with Wine Legacy. They specialise in wine, both buying individually and in gift boxes.
I really prefer to see a merchant specialising. If they do too many things then I figure they may not do them all well. But a company that just does wines must do great wines, or they die.
And I find the prices at Wine Legacy very reasonable too.
So if your man is a wine loving man and you’re looking for a wine gift for him then there’s a few ideas for you. Consider a wine gift of the month, a wine gift basket or a wine gift box. There’s plenty of options. Oh, and make sure he drinks it with you so you get to try it too!
