Give Him The Gift Of Health.
Sometimes it's a little too easy buying a "normal" gift.
There's no doubt that as a society we're getting, on average, fatter. Both men and women. And this brings with it some related health problems. Like heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes, and more.
I've written before about giving the gift of health to a man. I think that sometimes we get too bound up in the gift giving thing and end up missing some of the most important gifts we can give each other. Like love, time, committment, and lots more, including health.
Of course it can often be much harder to do this. If it's his birthday it's easy to jump on the net, find a nice looking present and buy it. Job done. Giving him something more serious and personal can take much more.
Now of course you can't just give him health. That's something that must be worked on for a lifetime. But you can do lots of things to ensure that he is more likely to be healthy than he would be without your efforts. Encourage him to exercise more. Cook nutritious food and so on. There's lots you can do that take effort on your part, but are worth it in the long run.
And when I come across something that I think is worth mentioning I'll do so here as well. Here's one. Chelation Therapy.
Now I confess that this is new to me, and I haven't personally tried it, so I started doing some reading about it. I was surprised with what I read. It involves the use of an amino acid (EDTA) to clean the bloodstream thereby producing a range of health related benefits.
Now normally I'm pretty sceptical about alternative therapies, but I got reading and was surprised to see that the use of oral chelation goes back quite some time, and has been backed up by quite a large number of studies, which you can read. Results included various improvements in heart conditions, cholesterol levels, blood pressure and more, all resulting, so it seems, form the effect of cleaning of the arteries.
All good outcomes for many men (and women) who may be in need of improvements in these areas to lesson their risks of health problems as they get older. And I'm a big fan of anything that you may be able to give him that improves his overall health.
Now I'm no doctor, so I can't tell you whether or not this works as claimed, however I can read and I can research, and if I was looking for a gift idea for a man who suffers from one or more of our common societal ailments I'd spend some time doing some research into this. I wouldn't accept it all without making the effort to make up my own mind, but I'd certainly see it as something to follow up.
So if your man is perhaps a little unhealthier than he could be, or maybe a little heavier than he could be and suffers from some of the health ill effects that can result from that, why not look into oral EDTA chelation.
It's not one of your mainstream gift ideas, but it could well be a gift of health that your man needs. Do your research and make up your own mind.
