Christmas Trees Revisited
A while ago I wrote an article about the Great Christmas Tree Debate. About the real versus artificial Christmas tree dilemma. Do you buy a real Christmas tree or do you buy an artificial Christmas tree?
I didn’t really come down on either side of the debate, I just pointed out the things you might like to consider when choosing your tree for Christmas this year. It’s an individual choice of course, and there are different considerations for everyone.
When my article was published one of my readers pointed out the fire risks of real Christmas trees. I had mentioned the fire risk, but this reader had seen a Christmas tree burn and so left her observations about the experience on my site.
More recently another reader pointed out that the fire risk of real Christmas trees was a factor of when they were cut. That if a Christmas tree was cut just before it was purchased then it wouldn’t pose a risk of fire because of the high water content. That trees that posed a risk of fire were usually from retailer who cut the trees well before sale.
The reader who made the comment left the site address of an online Christmas tree retailer that sold real Christmas trees, but cut them right before shipping. It looks like a good solution for anyone who wants the look of a real Christmas tree but with a reduced fire risk.
