A Boring Predictable Christmas Gift (That Works.) He’ll Love Them.
This article was inspired by my wife. Or more accurately a present that she bought me for my birthday recently.
A pair of slippers. Now before you say it, I know. A pair of slippers is a gift for an old man. There, you said it. But I’m not an old man. Not young, but not old.
A pair of slippers makes for a great birthday or Christmas gift for any man, young or old. They aren’t sexy or romantic, they aren’t exactly a unique Christmas gift idea, they aren’t a gift that makes me wonder how she managed to think of THAT. Really if you think about it they are boring and old fashioned.
But they still make a great gift.
Why? Because they are a useful and practical gift that works. The perfect gift for Christmas because it’s cold, and slippers are great in cold weather.
Well even that isn’t necessarily true either. I have 2 pairs of slippers. One pair of thin leather moccasins that were made by Indian craftsmen. I got them somewhere in New Mexico. Thin, comfortable and perfect for summer.
And the other pair is the new pair I got for my birthday. Thick, wooly and warm as toast. Beautiful Australian sheepskin wool and oh so nice to wear. Nothing better than having the feet up in front of the TV, warm as warm looking at the cold weather outside. The ones I got for my birthday were to replace a pair that I had worn out, my toes stuck out of them.
If you’re looking for a gift for a man and he’s a hot new boyfriend then slippers probably won’t cut it. You need something hot and racy to go with your new relationship. But if you’re looking for a gift for a man that you’re as comfortable with as, say, a old pair of slippers, then a pair of slippers may well just be the perfect gift for him.
Ideal for Christmas under the tree, get him to open them first and he can spend the rest of the day in comfort, and if he hasn’t had a pair of Australian sheepskin slippers before he’ll be a convert by bedtime. Slippers make the perfect gifts for a Christmas day around the tree.
And why do I say you need Australian sheepskin slippers? Simply because they are the best. They say Australia rides on the sheeps back, there’s so many sheep there. They know how to do sheepskin. Ever heard of Ugg boots? Australian.
They are made of a leather outer and sheepskin inner. They last for years and are great value for the price, you can pick up a pair for around $40. Get them for him for Christmas and you won’t be buying him any more Christmas slippers for quite a while.
Where do you find them? Well there’s no need to go to Australia, (though if you’re not short on cash at the moment that makes a great Christmas gift idea as well.)
You can find a wide range of sheepskin slippers at Only Slippers. Believe it or not a pair of slippers ranks as one of the top Christmas gift ideas in my view. As long as you don’t choose them for the hot new boyfriend.
Not a unique Christmas gift idea for him, but a great Christmas gift idea. When his feet are cosy he’ll love them.
